CVS | Love You

Happy Friday Scrappy Family!
Hope you've had a wonderful week!

Today, I'm sharing a layout I created of my little one, face full of ice cream 💛 But, seriously, how could I not snap and scrap a picture. She'll thank me when she's older. LOL!
I used the gorgeous Wild at Heart collection for my layout this week and I'm still wild about it!

Starting off this layout, I knew I wanted to stagger my background papers and create an offset layering effect. So I chose my papers and arranged them in the order you see. I used the Luscious paper as my base, then layered the vellum sheet, Artisan and then finally white card stock to get the look I was offer. I just love this effect!

I matted my photo with some of the papers in the collection including the navy floral vellum and popped it up with some foam sheet for dimension.

Next, I went through the chipboard frames (my fave) and choose 3 that I thought worked best with the colour scheme I was working with. I chose a floral and different sized navy blue ones. I placed the floral and the larger navy frames to the left of the photo and the smaller one to the right. Now I have a visual triangle to work with.

Now, my favourite part... embellishing! I went through the Die Cute Ephemera, Chipboard Stickers and the Accessory Stickers and chose pieces to accent my layout and photo. I kept the embellishing relatively simple this time around. Kinda...😛

From the Wood Veneer package, I chose two words, Love and You and used them for my title. But before adhering them down, I misted them with firstly some White Dylusions Ink Spray, dried it and later added some HSCS in Peacock. After drying, the wood veneers have a great over all texture and colour. They kinda remind me of a galaxy colouring. Navy with specks of white peeking through and sparkle... lots of sparkle. Just look at 'em! 💙

To finish up my embellishing, I used a Flair Button that reads Hello. Before adhering it down, I took some metallic silver thread and just created a simple nest for the flair to sit on. I love the texture it adds to the clusters.

Lastly, I took the Enamel Dots in the lighter Blue and scattered them around my page. Placing them just peeking out from other pieces and some to add direction.
I hope you enjoyed my layout share for the week as much as I adored creating it. Have a wonderful weekend!

Nonna's Pizza

Hi Scrappy Gang!
Today, I'm sharing a fun layout I created of my mamma and my oldest meatball making pizza. How cute are they both. This picture was taken the day I got discharged from the hospital after having my Gall Bladder removed. My mom stayed over a couple days so that my girls were taken care of and my husband could be with me.

I'll treasure these kinds of memories forever as they're memories created in pure love.

The collection I used to create my layout is Fancy Pants', Family and Co. How fitting right?
I just adore all the "homey" aspects of this collection. My fave piece in the collection is the espresso machine die cuts and chipboard found throughout the collection. Being Italian, that was a staple in our household growing up. Now, things have evolved and we all depend on our automatic espresso machines. LOL! I miss the good ol' days!

Here's my layout...
BTW- there's also a process video up for this 😉

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I appreciate all of you!

CVS | Happy Birthday

Good Morning Crafty Family!
Welcome to the blog today, Lina here! Hi!
Today I'm sharing a layout I created with the always beautiful Wild at Heart & Make a Wish collections. Yes, I mixed them! They work perfectly together and I love how each are so different but compliment the other so well.
The theme this week in the blog is to use florals and hearts... literally, a piece of cake! LOL!
The photo I chose to scrapbook is of my youngest daughter, on her first birthday. 🎂
Here's my layout...

I started with a cut file from Paper Issues, it's free in their shop and cut it from the aqua Double Dot paper. I then backed it with the navy floral sheet. I just love this pairing! The navy floral really pops behind the aqua dots and it's the first element crossed off the list in this week's theme. Easy!
I began with the matting of my photo using patterns from the collection that I thought worked well with my over all theme. Then, I popped it up onto dimensional foam for added height.

Next, I shopped the Die Cut Ephemera package, my favourite part! I used the ephemera from the Make a Wish collection. I used some very beautiful florals, bunting and pennant banners, words and frames.

Creating a sub title, I used the Love You from the Chipboard Sticker Sheet. The colours were perfect to add here. It gave the layout something with it being a loud and bold title. Next, I also added some very colourful tiny words from the Make a Wish collection. I mean, they were perfect to use here, the sentiments were exact!

For the "hearts" element, I used hearts from the Wood Veneer package. I left them in their natural state since their colour is so pretty... light and airy. This checked off number 2 of the theme's focus. I added a few other smaller clusters in and around my page. This by no means is a simple or minimalistic layout to be honest, but I love how it came together.

This is a good view of how much is actually on this page... All the pattern, colours and embellishment make my papercrafting heart happy!
Lastly, to add that last little bit of something, I sprinkled around the remaining bit of Sparkle Enamel Dots I had in the navy blue. They are sparkly and pretty and I couldn't resist. I tucked them under elements and around my page. I really love the effect!

Thank you for stopping by today, I'm glad you're here! Hope you enjoyed my layout 💜
Have a wonderful day!

CVS | Hello Beautiful

Hello Fam,
Today, I'd like to share a layout with you I created using the incredible You Rock collection. This one is still one of my faves! I'm determined to use every last it of it. I mean, how could you not want to! 😉
The photo I am scrapbooking is of my eldest daughter, Ali. She was just sitting on the living room floor, in a tutu, playing with her Hatchimal. I asked her to smile and I snapped this photo. I just love her innocence and her happiness just shines through.

I began with the gorgeous dark blue sheet called Starshine and cut 1 inch off from 2 sides. Then I layered it onto This Way, the aqua arrowed paper. This gave me a 1/2 inch border on all sides.
I knew I wanted my photo to sit on the bottom right of my layout so I decided to create a "shelf" for my photo to sit on. I used strips from the cut apart border sheet. They were perfect for this part.

Because my layout is bottom heavy, I felt it needed balance at the top, so I created a large cluster in the top right corner using pieces of ephemera such as the woodgrain film strip and some stickers from the Sticker Element Sheet. When creating the star pennant banner, I popped up the center one to give the entire cluster some dimension.

I painted the stars from the wood veneer package to match my daughter's aqua tutu. They turned out just the right shade after using some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Mint and some Turquoise Dylusions ink. I affixed those around my page along with some orange chipboard stars.
For those who know me, the tiny words are my favourite way to add sentiment or journaling to a layout without having to actually put pen to paper. I picked my faves from the collection and went to town, adding some near my photo and some in the top corner cluster.

I just adore how some of the star veneer are inlayed. The details are incredible. I added a doily behind my photo to give the entire layout a softer more feminine feel. I feel it was a good way to add it without it being overly girly.

I used a Rubber Charm to add a pop of orange in the bottom left hand corner and adorned my page with the Enamel Shapes for more of the gorgeous colour in and around my page. I felt they were a perfect way to sprinkle some love around.

I hope you all enjoyed my layout today. I'm having a lot of fun using this collection for non traditional boy layouts. Thank you for stopping by. See you soon!

CVS | Shine So Bright

Good Morning Friends!
Today, I'm sharing a fun layout with you that I created with the lovely Free Spirit collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. This week on the blog the focus is to use multiple photos on your layout. I thought these two pictures of my littlest little were totally scrap-worthy using both the theme and collection.
Here's my layout...

I couldn't decide what navy and white patterned paper I wanted to use for my background, so I used two. LOL! I cut the smaller polka dot paper down a bit and layered it on top of the magnificent floral paper leaving a border only on the right side. Love the effect of this!

Next, I knew I wanted to play with colour, and that I did! I used the bright pinks and corals of the collection paired with the aquas and navy. It's a combo made in heaven! The colours seem to pop off the navy and white background.

I matted both photos as one photo. I didn't separate and give them two separate mattings. However, I did pop both photos onto foam for dimension giving the photo on the right an extra layer of foam. I did this for two reasons; Firstly because I wanted the photo on the right to stand out a bit more. And secondly, I was able to tilt the second picture slightly without the photo on the right interfering with the positioning. Hope that makes sense.

Moving on to embellishing and creating clusters, I pulled out the Die Cut Ephemera pack and went to town pulling my favourite pieces that I thought would work with the layout. I didn't mean to use florals but look... I did! Oops! 😉 But seriously, how could I resist? They worked so well especially considering in the photos my babe is wearing a floral top! LOL!

I continued embellishing and creating clusters with the Puffy Stickers, Woodies and the Accessory Stickers.
The title itself is created with words from the Die Cut package, Shine So Bright in the cutest font ever!

Here you can see the dimension the foam sheet gives under the photos. The one on the right has a double layer of foam and so is elevated from the second on the left.

That's it for me today. I hope you enjoyed my layout for today. Until next time, have a wonderful day!

CVS | Hello Sunshine

Hello Everyone,
Lina here today sharing a project I created using You Rock. I'm having so much fun working with this new collection. It's so bright and colourful and because it's Summer here in Canada, it's perfect to use for the season!
Also, I used a bunch (almost all 😜) of the new Summer Cut Files available on the website. You can find them here :

I'm scrapbooking a photo from last week of my parents and my littles at the park. They're all swinging on the swings and this shot captures so much happiness... I'm not sure who's having more fun, the kids or the grandparents 😊

First, I cut the FREE cut files I mentioned above out of some of the patterned paper in the collection. I felt it appropriate to use the yellow pattern for the words Hello Sunshine. Then I cut it a second time in another pattern paper and cut the sunshine piece off using a pair of scissors. I glued them on top of one another, slightly offset, creating a "shadow". I love the effect this gives.

Next, my fave... matting my photo. I used so many pieces from the collection including scraps from papers I had already cut into. After adding a few layers, I popped all of it on some foam sheet for dimension. I just adore the way a bit of lift gives the photo a lot of depth.

Next, I dug into the Die Cut Ephemera and looked for pieces that I thought went well with the layout and colour scheme that I was going for. I decided to make the teal/aqua pieces the focal colour and so I put aside all those pieces as I was searching. I used pieces from the Accessory Stickers sheet, including the little words and phrases to embellish my page and clusters.

Behind the photo and matting as well as behind the Flair Button I used, you'll see some tangled and messy thread. I just love the look of some peaking through.
I finished off the layout with a heathy sprinkling of Enamel Shapes in aqua and yellow to make the layout more cohesive as a whole.

That's it for me today my friends! I hope you enjoyed my layout and my process. I appreciate you stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

CVS | Mamma's Happy Heart

Good Morning Friends!
It's Lina, today sharing this layout of my two babes using the Free Spirit collection.
This picture... this picture melts my heart! The two of them love each other so and I managed to snap a quick picture of the two mid cuddle. Both entertained by the iPad but loving each other none the less! It only lasted about 3.7 seconds, but I was quick enough to take this picture! Ha!

Let's jump right in... I started the layout by cutting two triangles and adhering them to my background sheet. Creating a diagonal quadrants. Then, I sewed around the perimeter and down the sides of the triangles with my little sewing machine. I used plain white thread, I like this look best. The papers I used for the background are Dreamy and Wildflowers.

Next, you guessed it... matting of my photo. LOL! I guess I have a routine and order to the way I do things. Haha!
I chose a variety of papers in the collection for my matting. I think they were all scraps to be honest. I don't think I cut into a new, whole sheet. Pretty impressive, right?  I used the corally-orange border in the Accessory Stickers sheet as part of my layering behind my photo.

Working on my title, I fussy cut the word "happy" from one of the cut apart sheets. There is also a lower case one in the Die Cut Ephemera pack but I liked this one better. Well, truth is that I cut out the one from the die cut sheet first and then noticed the other one. It worked out well though because I wouldn't have been able to arrange the letters the way I wanted with the pre-cut one since it was all one piece. For the rest of my title, I used the Alphabet Stickers and then sewed through them with my sewing machine.

To embellish, I used bit and pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera pack as well as some cuts from the cut apart sheet. I also used some Woodies, a Flair Button that I placed within a nest of mint thread and finished off with a sprinkling of Enamel Shapes. I have to admit that this layout is less embellished than my other layouts. It kinda felt nice to use less :P
To add to my love of tiny words and phrases, I created my own by cutting out some of the type patterned paper from the collection. The wording was perfect!

Hope you liked my layout! Have a wonderful day!

CVS | For I Know...

Good Morning Scrappy Fam!

Today, I'm sharing with you a layout I created using the ever gorgeous Wild at Heart collection. Gah, I don't think I'll ever get sick of this collection. I just keep finding inspiring ways to use it.

This week on the blog, we're focusing on journaling. Those who follow my YouTube channel know I rarely journal on my layouts. If I have something important to say or document, I write it on the back. I'm always afraid that if I do it on the front, I won't end up liking my writing and then won't love the overall look of my layout. Silly right? LOL!

But, I feel like I've found a creative solution... Hidden journaling, best of both worlds! Here's my layout:

Firstly, I chose this background paper, Artisan, knowing I wanted to cut out a huge title with my Silhouette Cameo and secondly, back it with another sheet from the collection. In this case, I choose that bold floral, Memento. Perfect combo! The cut file is something I found online. You can easily search it if you need to.

The matting of my photo was up next... This is one of the most fun (and important) for me when creating my layouts. I chose papers that would compliment my photo and layout but would not compete with it. I also used my layers as a way to bring in the additional colours of the collection such as the navy, to the top of my layout.

Also, I chose to scrapbook this photo in black and white instead of the colour version. I have two reasons for this; First, I didn't want the colours of the photo to get lost or blend with the colours of the papers. And, secondly, the black and white picture was a bit more dramatic ;)

My matting is also where I was going to "hide" my journaling. I used foam sheet pieces to create a slot where my tags would be housed. The tags are where I wrote my journaling and are aesthetically part of my layers. I added some baker's twine to my tags as well.

Next up... embellishing! I feel like I used some of everything here for my clusters: Die Cut Ephemera, Chipboard Frames, the tiny words from the Accessory Stickers, a piece from the Rubber Charms set, a Flair button that I surrounded with pink thread and finally, a healthy sprinkling of the Enamel Dots. I used the blue sparkle ones :)

I created a heavily embellished cluster on either side of my photo and then a smaller and simpler one at the top right hand corner of my photo. Seriously, I just love the tiny phrases and words that are included on the Accessory Stickers sheet. I could add those everywhere. And, theres always the right message to add.

I appreciate you stopping by today and letting me share this layout with you! Have a beautiful day!

Wonderful Winter

Good Morning Scrappy Fam,

Today, I'm sharing a quick layout I created with the wonderful Snow and Cocoa collection from Crate Paper. This photo has been waiting to be scrapbooked all winter, spring and now summer. I've had it printed and ready to go on my desk for ages and I'm just now getting the chance to scrap it. 😛

I started with some mixed media on this black and white print background sheet. I took some Dylusions Ink Spray in London Blue and Purple and used the packaging technique to smoosh it onto my paper.

I waited a bit for the ink to dry and hopped right into embellishing using the die cuts, sticker accents and chipboard pieces. I created a metallic gold nest for the button flair and glued that down.

Finally, I added some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine splatters to the page and called it done!
Thanks for stopping by today friends!

CVS | Cool for the Summer

Hello Friends!
Today, I'm sharing my latest layout with you, a 12x12 I created with the You Rock collection. This week on the blog we're focusing on Seasons. And, having just come back from the best vacation yet, I chose Summer. This photo is of my oldest daughter and my hubby, playing with sand on the beach.

I'm having too much fun pushing myself out of my own comfort zone using pictures of my daughters with such a masculine collection. But you can seriously use this collection for just about any photo, it's so versatile!

Here's my layout...
I had an idea in my heading before beginning this layout that I wanted to use strips of different patterned papers. All types f patterns and colours. The cut apart sheet was perfect for that concept... it already has strips of perfectly coordinating patterns. I happily cut into it and chose my favourite ones. The background paper I used is that gorgeous, multicoloured triangle. It heart it so much! I glued it all together and also contemplated even machine stitching across the butted seams but decided against it when I realized I wouldn't be able to fold up some of the edges to create dimension. I'm glad I didn't. 😛

Next, I matted my photo with you guessed it... more patterned paper and colour. Blame the tropical island I just left for all the inspiration! LOL!
I popped my photo with matting on some foam sheet for added dimension. I don't think I'll ever not use it. I just love the look of the lift.

I dove right into embellishing and created three separate clusters including my title.

To embellish, I used pieces from the Chipboard Stickers, the Die Cut Ephemera, the Accessory Stickers, and Washi Stickers. So, pretty much all the things! I also used some metallic silver thread to create a "nest" for my Flair Button. I used the cute Awesome one.
To create my title, I used two different sets of alphabets from my stash. A larger, woodgrain one and a smaller orange one.

To complete my layout, I also used a couple of the Rubber Charms in and around my clusters. They were the perfect finishing touch! It took everything in me not to splatter some paint on the layout but I refrained because I wanted to keep the layout look "cleaner", if that makes any sense.
And, that's it!
I hope you enjoyed my process and layout. I appreciate you all stopping by!
